Work with us
Who we hire
Published researchers, not volunteers.
Every Cohira project is delivered by people who have already published in indexed journals. We hire slowly, in four roles, and we read applications at any time of year.
What every application needs
- Your CV
- Two publications you are proud of, and your role on each
- The methods and software you actually use
- The time you can commit in a typical month
Physician researchers
You design studies, interpret the clinical question, and lead a project end to end. We look for a published record and a real specialty.
Biostatisticians
You write the pre-specified analysis plan, run the analysis, and defend it to a statistical reviewer. R or Stata, survival and multilevel methods.
Medical writers and editors
You turn a completed analysis into a journal-formatted manuscript, and you know the reporting checklists by name.
Second reviewers
You read a finished paper the way a referee will, before it leaves us. Senior methodological judgement required.
How we work
The terms, before you ask.
- Project-based, not shift-based. A project lead offers you work that fits your specialty and your calendar, with the scope, fee and deadline stated up front. You accept or decline; nothing is assigned without your agreement, and declining does not affect future offers.
- Remote, across time zones. The team already works from several countries. What matters is the deadline you accepted, not the hours you sat.
- Named on the work you do. When your contribution meets ICMJE criteria you are named as a co-author, with the client’s written agreement. We do not ghostwrite and we do not sell bylines.
- Paid per project. Every project carries a fee agreed in writing before you start, based on the role and the scope, and paid on delivery. We tell you the fee before you commit, never after.
Early career
Not published yet?
We do not hire researchers without a publication record, but we do teach, and we keep applications on file. Our mentorship and training are built for exactly that stage, and applicants who complete a first publication are welcome to apply again.

One-to-one mentorship, on your own project, with a published researcher beside you.
Training for your department, from single workshops to full courses.
Applications
Send your CV and two papers.
We read every application and reply either way. If your record fits a role we are hiring for, we start with one paid project, agreed in writing, and build from there.
